It is magical when scarcity becomes abundance.
I grew up in a scarcity mindset.
I felt guilty if anyone spent money on me. Even for necessities.
As I grew older, I would feel guilty if people asked me too many questions or took an interest in my life. It was a strange sort of marriage of scarcity and unworthiness--in my mind, it was like there was only so much love and care to go around, and if people cared about me, that meant that someone else was being uncared for. Someone like my disabled brother, maybe. I would deflect attention and focus on serving others to almost an extreme degree at times.
It took years to heal from all of that scarcity, all those feelings of worthlessness and unworthiness. And it’s still a process. Like everyone, I go through cycles. Sometimes I do great and attract tons of abundance. And sometimes, I find myself thinking old thoughts of not-enough.
I fell into the trap of scarcity and not-enough because of my perceptions of my life. Growing up, even though my family always did have enough, I always felt like I personally did not have enough. I always felt like there was not enough love for me, not enough time for me, not enough money or attention for me. The objective reality of the situation didn’t matter; my perception and beliefs were what mattered.
And isn’t that how it goes? The objective reality of a situation is one thing, but our perceptions and beliefs about those situations are really what make or break us.
Our perceptions and beliefs are things we can change.
I started changing mine when I first got introduced to emotional healing. I moved in with my aunt who works with emotions, and I got to be her guinea pig. And what we worked on was healing childhood bitterness and resentment and scarcity.
I will never forget how the layers of those emotions just fell right off me. I felt them leave.
It felt magical. I felt 10 pounds lighter after every session.
I became happier. I started feeling more secure. I felt trust in my life. I started dating and making close friends. It was the beginning of a major shift.
And that is my goal for this challenge. To use the next four weeks to really dig in to our scarcity mindsets and the things holding us back from being joyful and having “enough” in every way. There is enough for you! I know it. And you can know it too. So take your deep breaths and get excited--on Monday we start the fun. Invite a friend to join you in Conquering Scarcity, here: https://forms.aweber.com/form/

When scarcity becomes abundance

When is enough scarcity enough?
“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!”
I don’t even know where this phrase comes from, but I do know that even I find myself yelling it at my children from time to time (nobody’s perfect!). Enough is enough! Enough is enough!
I find myself calling it to them when they have ignored me over and over again, when they have persisted in doing things they knew they should not be doing. FYI, my oldest is six. So I have lots of teeny wackos doing lots of “enough.” ;)
Yesterday we talked about the emotional investments we make into the scarcity mindset, and about the need to “ignore sunk costs.”
Here are my questions for today:
When is enough scarcity enough?
When do we put our foot down?
When do we look at our lives and say: “this is enough!! I’m done with this scarcity! I’m ready to be open for more!”?
When I was talking to my husband about ignoring sunk costs, he brought up a really interesting point.
He said, “We care about sunk costs because we’re afraid of making decisions and we like to revert back to decisions that have already been made, instead of making new decisions.”
How is this true in your life?
How is this true when it comes to the scarcity mindset?
Are there situations when it feels easier to continue living in a mindset of “there’s not enough for me,” just because that’s how you’ve always thought?
To what extent do we continue in old ways of thinking, just because we already decided to think that way, and continuing in an old decision is easier than making a new decision?
I would love to hear your thoughts on these questions. They are serious questions. Not just about scarcity, but about everything. What in our lives persists just because we don’t want to make a new decision? What in your life persists because you don’t want to make a new decision?
One of God’s greatest gifts to us is agency… the power to make decisions. How are we using that incredible power to choose prosperity?
When is that scarcity mindset enough? When does it become time to choose a new way of thinking?

Are you invested in scarcity?
Today, I want to talk about the scarcity investment and ignoring sunk costs.
First--what the heck is a scarcity investment and why would anyone ever invest in scarcity??
The secret is that many of us are invested in scarcity, and many of us are afraid to give it up.
What is a scarcity investment? A scarcity investment happens when we are personally invested in maintaining scarcity in our thinking and in our lives. When we feel on a conscious or subconscious level that maintaining scarcity outcomes and scarcity mindsets is somehow important. That is an investment in scarcity.
So… why do any of us invest in that?
Why do we invest in mindsets and outcomes that add stress and trauma to our lives? Because the fact is, feeling like there is not-enough is both stressful and traumatic.
We invest in these mindsets and outcomes for all sorts of reasons. Consider the following beliefs that many people hold both consciously and unconsciously:
- Struggling to get by gives my life meaning and purpose.
- Life is supposed to be a struggle; life is supposed to be hard.
- Good people are supposed to be poor.
- If things came easily to me, I would be a bad person.
These sorts of beliefs are actually surprisingly common. Almost everyone has beliefs like that floating around in them either consciously or unconsciously.
Hopefully we can look at that list and realize that these things are not true.
You can certainly derive meaning and purpose from struggle, but is struggle necessary for meaning and purpose? My first birth, that hospital birth I mentioned yesterday, was definitely a struggle that gave my life meaning and purpose to some degree… but my subsequent births were easy, nearly painless, comfortable, and joyful, and I still derived meaning and purpose from them. Struggle is not a prerequisite for meaning or purpose.
We say life is supposed to be hard because there is this idea that life is supposed to be a “test,” and apparently tests are supposed to be hard. You know, for a lot of people, tests are hard. I’ll say, I actually enjoy testing. You can be tested with having to struggle. Tests don’t have to be hard. Tests just measure. And we can be measured with joy and peace and not with struggle.
“Good people are supposed to be poor?” This is one a lot of good people fall into. I guess they are not aware that Melchizedek, the famed high priest that Abraham traveled to pay his tithing to, was actually the richest man in the world at that time. Abraham was pretty darn rich, too. We all hopefully know the story of Job, who suffered immense suffering… but then at the end, received tons of wealth and riches and got back more than he’d lost in his trials. Good people don’t have to be poor. Many of the best people are wealthy in every way.
“If things came easily to me, I would be a bad person.” Some people really feel like it would be wicked of them to have things come easily to them. Like they should feel guilty if they receive things that didn’t come through struggle. This is also antithetical to Biblical teaching. Yes, Adam was told to live by the sweat of his brow… but we also see in the Book of St. Matthew that God clothes the lilies of the field. There is definitely a place for work and effort--but also a place for trust and knowing that we will be provided for. It’s okay to consider yourself a lily of the field and allow God to clothe you. It takes a lot of faith--perhaps more faith than it takes to invest in a mindset of having to earn everything yourself. But the fact is, allowing God’s blessings to flow easily into your life makes you the opposite of a bad person. And there is no room for guilt when it comes to being open to God’s incredible blessings.
Unwilling to let go
I once had a very interesting session with a woman who had a lot of problems. I felt it over and over again in my mind: her real problem was her personal investment in struggle.
“You have a strong belief that you need to struggle,” I told her. “As long as you hold onto that belief, you’re going to have some serious struggles.”
In my work, I am able to help people let go of beliefs like that, often instantly, and replace them with more beneficial beliefs. “Would it be all right if I cleared that belief and replaced it with ‘I can allow blessings to flow into my life without struggle’?” I asked.
She pressed her mouth into a thin smile and tersely shook her head. “I have to hold onto that one,” she said.
I think that session took place about half a decade ago and I’ve thought about it ever since. That session did not make a huge difference for that friend. She still struggles pretty fantastically. I have not worked on her since and I don’t think she ever wants me to again. The idea that she would have to give up her emotional investment in struggling was just too much for her.
She had both mental and emotional investments in the concept of scarcity and struggle. These investments were so deep that releasing her need for struggle would have left her floundering and feeling like a bad person.
These days, I would have known to back up and look for the underlying beliefs preventing that one from going, but back then I was still pretty new at the work. But even so: when we are invested in feelings of scarcity, sometimes it can be an internal struggle to let go of that investment in favor of living in a space of prosperity and openness to all the blessings life and the universe have to offer us.

Ignoring sunk costs
One thing my husband loves to say is “Ignore sunk costs!” It means you’re better off ignoring the things you’ve previously invested in, in favor of looking to the future. I asked him to elaborate for me and this is what he said:
“Part of sunk costs is that you need to look not at what you’ve invested or what you’ve paid in the past, but what your payoffs are in the future. The sunk cost fallacy assumes value based on what you’ve done or what has been done, instead of what can or will happen. In that respect, it’s very easy to think, I’ve spent so much time and energy thinking htis way that it has to be worth it, or else I have wasted my time.
“When you understand sunk costs, you don’t spend so much time thinking about what you’ve done in the past, you think about what is the best option for me looking forward. It’s a question of looking forwards instead of backwards.”
Ignoring sunk costs is about looking forwards instead of backwards. When it comes to scarcity investments, it’s about looking at the ways we’ve previously been living our lives, and thinking about our lives, and asking ourselves: is this worth continuing to invest in? Is it really worth it to continue thinking this way?
This is something we’ll be discussing more tomorrow--when is enough scarcity enough?
Allie, what are some scarcity mindsets you can identify in yourself? What kind of an investment do you have in those beliefs? I would love to hear your insights. Just respond back to this email--I read every reply.
Sending the good vibes!

The Scarcity Shutdown
I birthed my first child in a hospital.
I didn’t really want to. My research during that pregnancy had led me to overwhelming evidence that for a low risk birth, the home is a safer place to birth, for both the mother and the baby--less exposure to antibiotic-resistant infection, less pressure for unnecessary interventions, etc. But in the end I let my mom talk me into a hospital birth, just to “make sure that everything would be okay.”
So I did it, and it was very terrible, but on top of the physical and emotional trauma associated with that hospital birth… we came home the few days later, to a bill from the hospital for several thousands of dollars.
This is a picture of my "little" guy... 10 lb 6 oz at birth, went straight to the NICU for what I later learned were side effects of the epidural.
We weren’t sure if insurance was going to cover the bill.
Seeing that number on the paper… I couldn’t even sleep. The night we received that letter, I don’t think I slept at all. I felt so nervous. It felt like worms in my stomach, that yucky itchy crawling feeling of not enough, not enough, not enough. Thoughts raced in my mind all that night. How were we going to make this work? How would we ever scrape up enough to pay for that hospital birth? I would look over at my brand new baby and just feel terrible. That awful, feeling like a silent scream and panic and frustration and fear--so much fear. Fear of hardship, fear of humiliation, fear of having to ask for help. Fear of doing everything right and still not having enough.
It was a terrible time.
Back then, I was so stuck in stress and panic mode I didn’t even stop to think about the from a larger perspective.
But that’s how it goes, isn’t it? We get presented with these stressful times and we just shut down. It overwhelms our systems and freezes us.
I didn’t feel frozen in the moment--I felt racey and panicked. But at the same time, I did feel frozen in the sense that I felt so stuck.
I didn’t feel frozen in the moment--I felt racey and panicked. But at the same time, I did feel frozen in the sense that I felt so stuck.
When we are caught in scarcity mindsets and scarcity situations, that’s what happens: we get panicked, stressed, we feel stuck, we feel like there is no escape. I call this the scarcity shutdown. It’s what happens when we get so caught up in the sensations of not-enough that we start shutting down emotionally, mentally, and sometimes even physically, as our sleep and eating suffers due to the stress.
That story had a happy ending; we called our insurance and it turned out that the bill was not supposed to have been mailed to us, and they were taking care of it, and they did.
Sometimes our scarcity stories don’t have happy endings. Sometimes people end up on the streets, alone, with nowhere to go. Sometimes we suffer so extremely from loneliness and friendlessness that it drives us nearly to madness.
But the important thing is--all of our scarcity stories CAN have a happy ending. And that is what this upcoming free email series on Conquering Scarcity is all about it. It’s about turning our stories around, creating new stories--shifting into spaces of prosperity where we may be currently stuck in the revolving door of constant disappointment and feelings of not-enough.
Today I’m asking you a question: has there ever been a time in your life where you felt that “scarcity shutdown?” I would love to hear your story. You can reply directly to this email--I read every response.
The fun begins on Monday! So go here to participate on Facebook, and if you have any friends you think might enjoy benefitting from this series, go ahead and send them this link to sign up for this email list: https://forms.aweber.com/form/ 75/1226416575.htm.

Opening to abundance and conquering scarcity: upcoming challenge!
Do you ever feel stressed about money?
Or time?
Or other resources?
When we stress about time, money, resources--or even things like love and relationships--many times, the stress is rooted in a thing called scarcity.
I know you’ve heard of scarcity. The idea that there isn’t enough. Have you ever thought anything like this?
Scarcity is the enemy of peace. And worse--it is rooted in lies.
There IS enough for us. There is enough of everything for us.
When I did this financial prosperity clearing, I did it totally live. These days I tune into the energy of a group ahead of time and make a plan of what needs to be cleared, but with that particular session everything that popped up in it was completely spontaneous and I did not look at it beforehand.
One thing that surprised me in that session was the image of a Tree of Life, except it was a Tree of Money. It said: Money DOES grow on trees!
|
And sometimes even now I think of that image and think--wow! Money DOES grow on trees! Money can turn up when you least expect it; people can flow into your life with every resource you need and they can be happy to share it with you. There IS enough!
More recently, I was at church and a speaker spoke about trees and time. I had a new image enter my mind--a Time Tree. I thought: Time grows on trees, too!
I realized: just as I can create money from nothing, I can create time from nothing too.
And all of us can do that. We can all create all the money we need. All the time we need. All the love we need. All the peace we need. All the resources we need. But it does require some mindset shifts. So I am excited to announce that for the next 4 weeks we are going to dive in to conquering scarcity. This is going to be part class, part challenge, part session. Free to your inbox. The fun begins this coming Monday so if you have any friends who might be interested, you’ll want them to sign up for the series here so they can participate too. You can also like my Facebook page here and join my group here to participate that way as well.
… I’M EXCITED!!!
So: tell your friends, get excited, and let’s conquer some scarcity this Christmas season. :)
Sending all the good vibes!

Understanding body systems, part 1: chakras within chakras
I've been a little AWOL on my blog lately. I've been very busy with a bunch of new projects. Today I want to talk about SYSTEMS.
The body runs on SYSTEMS. In the physical body, we've heard of a bunch of them:
The body runs on SYSTEMS. In the physical body, we've heard of a bunch of them:
- the digestive system
- the immune system
- the cardiovascular system
- the endocrine system
- and so on.
All of these systems are physical AND have energetic components. This is because emotions and trauma, while very responsive to energy work, are also material in nature. Our emotions are made up of chemicals, molecules; when we release them through energy work or talk therapy or any other type of emotion release, we are actually helping our bodies physically metabolize our emotions and trauma.
This is one reason I encourage my own clients to take deep forceful breaths when releasing, to drink lots of water, and to tap on meridian points and to stretch while going through a session. You breathe out, flush out, metabolize those emotions and trauma in your actual body. Bodies matter.
Physical systems can have serious energetic problems. For example: your immune system can be fragmented, or the energy of it can be missing entirely. It can be going the wrong direction, or 'turned off,' which means it's present but just not functioning.
If it's fragmented and an energy worker doesn't realize it, unless the fragmentation is healed, there are going to be major problems with the system.
If the system is missing, an energy worker can still work on the system wherever it is, but since it won't be associated with the body at that time, there will still be problems.
If the system is functioning but flowing in the wrong direction, you're going to have some problems.
Sometimes the body has an inaccurate idea of which direction a system should flow. It's very important to download to the body an understanding of how and which way a system should be flowing.
Understanding the physical body's systems is very important.
However, there are not just physical systems in the body that are relevant to physical and emotional health. There are energetic systems as well.
The most famous energetic systems are probably the auric system, the meridian system, and the chakra system. These systems are important, but it's also important to note that there are many more systems in the body than just these.
Additionally, each system is much more complex than most people initially understand.
Even in my teaching, I don't usually delve too far deeply into the nuances of each system. But there are plenty, plenty of nuances, and I am working to create more modules for my mentorship program to cover these nuances.
For example: each chakra is a holon, a whole system within a system. Most people are aware that chakras have fronts and backs that need to be united, and most people are aware that there is an inner layer and an outer layer to each chakra, and that both layers are supposed to be spinning in different directions, and hopefully most people know to download to each client's body the specific divine instructions for optimal chakra spinning speed and direction.
But chakras are more complex than that.
Within each chakra there are seven more mini-chakras. As an example, take your root chakra. Your root chakra has a front and a back, an inside and an outside, an outer membrane, and a membrane separating the inside from the outside. But within it, or sort of overlaid on top of it, there are seven more sub-chakras that deal with sub-sets of data. Chakras are really just spinning vortexes of information, and they are as well-constructed as libraries, when they are functioning ideally.
The third chakra of my root chakra, for example, contains stored information on how I should function as part of my identity, in the case of a survival situation, or any other type of situation governed by the root chakra. In the case of trauma, I'm scanning myself now: in my third chakra of my root chakra, it says I have one trauma lodged there. It's from when I was 4 months old and it has to do with me relating my sense of self and identity, to my survival struggles of feeling hungry and tired.
So when I clear that issue from my root chakra, it is more specifically clearing from the specific part of my chakra tied to my sense of identity.
Is that important?
Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. It depends on what exactly each emotion needs identified in order to clear. Sometimes, emotions need you to know simple things, like how old you were when an event took place, or what the exact emotion was or why it got stuck. Sometimes you need to know exactly where an emotion is stored, and if it is important to your subconscious mind that you acknowledge that the emotion is stored in a sub-chakra, well, then that's important to know.
It's important to note that the nuances of the chakra system are not often discussed because they are really beyond the scope of most healers--and frankly, most clients. If you have major, large-scale, big-picture damage to your primary cerebrospinal chakras, tinkering around with sub-chakras is a joke. People see amazing results working just with chakras generally, without delving deeply into how they work, and the finer traumas lodged in tiny spaces within, and if you've got major energetic damage to your chakra system, or your chakras are missing or deeply imbalanced, the most important thing is to get that straightened out, and that is much more important than digging deep into each separate chakra.
My philosophy with energy work is very similar to that of many other energy workers: the goal is for the client to get the most "bang for their buck," and that requires focusing the efforts mostly on big picture stuff. And so for many people much of the time, it is sufficient to work on the most superficial layers of the chakras.
But what if a sub-chakra affects the big picture?
And that, to me, is why it's useful to understand the body's systems very thoroughly.
I've been researching the body's various systems for several years now, but I've been researching them much more deeply in recent months. The chakras themselves are complex, but just as complex is the chakra system as a whole.
I wondered why it was that the chakras can be so unstable--how come they keep needing to be realigned? And when I probed more deeply, what I found is that there IS a system to keep the chakras "plugged in" and permanently aligned in proper alignment--only virtually everyone on the planet comes to earth so traumatized that those crucial pieces of the energetic anatomy are missing. There are many working parts to that system and in my experience, each one needs to be called back separately. But once they're all back and cleaned and in good working order, the chakras stay much more stabilized and resilient. I will need to write about that soon.
I've been putting off writing about my anatomical work because I've wanted to sketch out the things I have seen so you can see them also. I'll be working on that. But in the meantime, this is a good start. There are chakras within chakras, and that may be important for you to know.
There is more in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy!

More about Monday's Solar Eclipse
I was so so excited to find a link that I wanted to share with you on Monday, but I couldn't find it. I thought: surely I have saved this one somewhere! And I did, but just nowhere I thought to look until tonight.
Here is the link: What Astrologers Know About Eclipses That You Don't.
|
A lot is going on!!
|
How have you been handling the eclipse energy? Hopefully all right?
Heavenly events, especially large ones, tend to affect us for a few days on each end. So it's very normal to feel abnormally moody for the 3-7 days prior to an eclipse, as well as the 3-7 days after. Here's an article about the effects of the eclipse women have been noticing on their cycles.
The point is: if you're still feeling kind of shaken up, don't worry! It's normal!
Let me know how you're handling all this energy--I love to hear from you!
allie PS. I'm planning an upcoming series of sessions for anxiety. I'm planning to send more information out about it as I'm working on it, but if you are more particularly interested in learning more, please let me know!
Sending you all the good vibes!!!!

Solar Eclipse Roundup
Many of you have emailed me asking where the solar eclipse info is! I've been so busy actually managing the side effects of this set of eclipses, I haven't even had a chance to round up information for you! But that's what this post is for.
|
The Solar Eclipse
|
This solar eclipse is a big deal on lots, lots of levels. You can expect to feel its effects on a personal level and on a national and international level.
Eclipses are times of endings and beginnings. If you haven't watched my Lunar Eclipse session from two weeks ago, it is not too late! This will help with releasing the things that need to go so we can step into our new path with this solar eclipse.
Important stuff to know about this eclipse:
- The last time an eclipse like this happened--only visible in totality from the United States-- was 1776. Seems significant to me!
- This eclipse is exactly 40 days from Yom Kippur--the day of atonement.
- 7 years after this eclipse, another matching one going the opposite direction will be right over the US, and the X of this X-marks-the-spot will be right over the Adam-Ondi-Ahman area.
There is so, so much to be aware of regarding this eclipse, but these articles are a good start:
This article is an LDS commentary on the significance of this eclipse.
TO SEE OR NOT TO SEE?This is from Yogi Bhajan's library of teachings on what to do during an eclipse:
YB: Tomorrow is eclipse, is that right? Student: Yes. YB: You shall at that time be meditating "Har." Be graceful, try to... After so many hundred years, this thing has come here, and that time whosever shall remain still, shall benefit multiple, stillness is a practice, be still, then don't go out and see, what is happening? Nothing is happening but you will lose the eyesight if you go and see it naked eye. We are not seeing lot of it but that is the time of pure meditative mind because what happens is when eclipse has started coming the moon started coming in-between earth and sun, the entire magnetic energy, the kilowatt frequency of the magnetic energy changes. You might have practiced all these days, lot of hassles, lot of irritation, lot of pimples, lot of body problem, blood problem, menstruation getting upside down (?), all that stuff, you might be thinking what is going on? After tomorrow it will change, for some for the better, for some for the worst.
Today is a great day to be still and to meditate. The moon and sun coming together is a powerful energy for uniting what has been divided within, for harnessing the power of both the masculine and feminine energies.
The link to Yogi Bhajan's lecture has a whole lesson on crisis of personality.
But today is a great day to meditate, to realize what you need to let go of, and to let go of it. Today is a great day to prepare for new beginnings. The new beginnings are already beginning. But today is a great day to be aware of them, to welcome them, to choose to face them without fear, to face them with acceptance.
No matter what these endings and new beginnings mean for you personally--you can handle them with dignity and grace.
Please send me any questions or thoughts or comments--I love to hear from you! I may do an eclipse session later today if I can make the time. If I do I'll send out another email about it. But in the meantime: stillness, meditation, introspection. Grace, faith, dignity. |

Practice makes perfect--even with healing!
I read an interesting article recently that included the following as a footnote:
I loved it and had to blog about it.
So many people really want the gift of healing and feel like it is beyond their grasp. They feel like they're learning really slowly, that they'll never feel competent at energy healing.
For me, my learning curve was long and slow. From first hearing about auras and wishing I could see them, to actually being able to discern them to some degree, was about 10 years for me. I first learned muscle testing when I was 17; I actually got good at muscle testing when I was 25.
When I first picked up a book on healing through theta states, I felt like an idiot and it took me a long time every night to even feel like I was doing anything. Honestly, I didn't usually feel like I was accomplishing anything. But the key is that I practiced every night.
At the beginning of my energy healing journey, I stuck with body work (quantum touch-style hands-on healing) and I just tried to practice every day on anyone who would let me. Sometimes it seemed to make a difference, and often it didn't. But I kept practicing.
I firmly believe that everyone is capable of healing--but to me, the key seems to be practice.
If you are struggling to feel like you can heal, to feel like you can be a healer, take a deep breath! It will be okay!! Just keep practicing. Practice what you know, even when it feels fruitless and like a waste of time. I've spent years feeling like I was wasting my time. But it turned out I wasn't.
Due to the nature of morphic fields, it's actually easier now for you to get better, faster. Go read this article to understand why.
There's never been a better time to practice! If it feels slow-going, don't worry! It will work out!! Keep trying. We all struggle in the beginning and eventually figure it out. You can do it!
Joseph had the plates for two hundred and two days before the first page was translated. During this time he worked on developing his gift and tried various approaches but only translated a few figures and characters. The translation of the book of Lehi began on April 12, 1828 and took sixty-four days to translate one hundred and sixteen written pages. The book of Lehi was translated at an average rate of 1.81 pages per day. With the loss of the book of Lehi, Joseph’s gift to translate was taken from him for a season. The translation work was resumed with Oliver Cowdery as Joseph’s scribe on April 7, 1829. They began the translation of the portions of the gold plates we have today as the Book of Mormon. It took eighty-five days to translate four hundred and sixty-six written pages. This translation was done at a rate of 5.48 pages per day—over three times faster than the first one hundred sixteen pages. The increase in Joseph’s translation speed is an illustration of this truth: “That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson quoted by President Heber J. Grant. “Seventieth Annual Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” The Deseret News, 1900, p. 63)

Pluto retrograde: purging some toxins from your life
Today we're working on incorporating Pluto, which entered retrograde on April 19. Link to The Gospel and Reading the Stars.
What things do you have going on that need to go? Pluto plays several roles: it digs up the things below the surface, in the "underworld" of our hearts. It helps us figure out where we fit into the world at large. It drags up our toxins and releases them.
I guess that makes today a good day to mention that I'm opening up my mentorship program for this coming summer--if you feel like that is something you want to learn more about, please email me directly.
But back to business: Pluto. Where do you fit into the grand scheme of things? How do you fit into the world at large? I'll talk more about that tomorrow but for now, we're dealing with some yucky stuff.
|
Pluto is all about purging the "toxins" from your life.

The question to ask today is: What do I need purged from my spirit?
For most of us, it's going to be something we don't want purged!
But the trick is to be brave. Ask in prayer how you can assist the purging process. We can humble ourselves, or have God humble us for us. But humbling ourselves is a much kinder process! What do you need purged? How do you need to do it?
You might get any number of answers. Maybe you need to purge those unnecessary piano lessons. Maybe you need to purge your own laziness. Maybe you need to purge a bad habit or even an addiction. Maybe you have a backlog of emotions and traumatic events you need released. Maybe you need to purge something physically--time for a colon cleanse? Liver cleanse? Anyone?
Don't be afraid of what your body and spirit tell you they need. They are out to serve you. All of this is to help you grow. Maybe you have something you need to clear from your life that scares you. I'll tell you one of mine... I have a corner in my living room that is out of control!! Eek! The house "hotspot" for sure. One thing I personally need to purge is the unnecessary clutter in my house and I dread it. I've been plugging away at it but it just keeps going. But that's okay.
We just keep going. We face the things we don't want to face. Because we are brave and WE CAN DO IT!! You can do it. If you want to, send me an email about what you're purging from your life this week. I'm still recovering from eye surgery but I can't wait to read it when I get back. |

Another exercise to clear excess weight from your life
Good morning! We've done a lot of exercises to understand more about what's coming up with this Mercury Retrograde. Here's the obligatory link to The Gospel and Reading the Stars. Yesterday, we did an exercise relating to the Venus Retrograde that just finished on April 15. Today, I wanted to send you an exercise that deals with the Mercury Retrograde specifically. Hopefully over the past few days, you've accumulated a number of insights on the messages your soul has for you. There are things in your life that your soul wants altered and now is a great time to shine the light on them. |
What are the things you need to change? |
Today, I want you to grab your pen and paper. First, we're going to take a deep breath and ask: What unfinished projects are weighing on me? What do I need to get done in my life? Write down everything that comes to you. Mercury Retrograde is a time to assess and finish these projects. Just writing them down can be enormously helpful to you! Your Homework This is your homework for today. Today, you are going to block off some time specifically to get some unfinished projects done. Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, an hour--you are going to schedule as much time as you can to get something done. You are going to clear those unfinished weights from your system and feel lighter by the end of the day. When you do the exercise, let me know how it went. I'm still recovering from surgery but when my eyes are functional I'll be reading every message. More tomorrow, allie |

Release that excess weight from your life
We've done lots and lots with Mercury Retrograde this past week! Here, again, is my obligatory link to The Gospel and Reading the Stars. Today, I have a fun exercise to help you release that excess weight from your life. This exercise has to do with the Venus Retrograde that just finished on April 15. Venus has to do with values, what is important to you. So we'll be examining the things that are important to you. Here is what you will do: Step 1 First, you will write down the things that matter to you. All of them. It will take a minute and that's okay! Here are some ideas: - your own body - your children - your spouse - your house - your books - your job - your reputation - how this person or that person feels about you - your obligations at work or church or school - etc. Step 2 Okay. Now that you have your list, you will come up with a symbolic object for each of those items. Or, if the item is easily assessed weight-wise, you can just use the object. For example: - A leaden birdhouse might represent my house - My books, I would just symbolically represent as books - My reputation might be represented as a feather on a very heavy set of scales - How a friend feels about me might be represented as a ribbon--what is it tied to? This is an abstract exercise. Just allow it to happen. Don't judge what comes into your mind, just allow images to come to you that represent the different things in your life that are important to you. Step 3 Once you have symbolic objects assigned to every thing that matters to you, determine its weight. As in, how heavy it is. If you don't know off the top of your head, ask your subconscious: how much does this weigh? Just write down the first number that comes into your mind. Step 4 Add all the weights up. How much is this weight you are carrying in your life? What are the biggies? How much do they weigh on you? Step 5 Really evaluate this list with a discerning eye. Are all these things you are carrying truly important? What can you release in order to lighten the burden you're carrying? This is the time to make a conscious shift in what you care about. Maybe it's not appropriate anymore to assign quite so much weight to other people's judgments, or a particular person's judgments. Maybe it's time to let go emotionally and physically of some of the physical items you've been holding onto. For example, I've always loved books. A few years ago I realized I was probably never going to re read most of my books. I had hundreds of books at the time. I dumped them all out on the floor, determined to carry with me only those books that truly brought me joy. It was tough and I didn't really carry that through 100%--though I did toss well over 300 books that didn't make the cut. It was emotional but worth it. I don't miss them now. But I do feel the lightness that comes from cutting out unnecessary weight from our lives. |
Now is a great time to release some excess weight from your life. |
I can guarantee that as you perform this exercise and actually follow through with releasing some of those values that are weighing you down, your physical body will feel lighter and your spirit self will feel lighter as well. Release those unnecessary burdens! I give you permission--let them go! You don't need to carry them anymore. More later, allie |
