angels watching over us

Lately in my work angels come up very frequently. We know that our ancestors are our angels, or at least that's what I was taught growing up--but we seem to forget that we had a wealth of experiences before we ourselves were born, and that our earliest ancestors also needed angels--who served them?

After Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, an angel was placed there with a flaming sword to protect them from eating fruit of the Tree of Life while they were still in their sins. Who was this angel? Could it have been a pre-born person?

My experience is that everyone I have worked on has a rich pre-birth history full of angelic service--and attending trauma that still affects them today.

A friend posted this quote on Facebook today:
"Now, this is the truth. We humble people, we who feel ourselves sometimes so worthless, so good-for-nothing, we are not so worthless as we think. There is not one of us but what God's love has been expended upon. There is not one of us that He has not cared for and caressed. There is not one of us that He has not desired to save and that He has not devised means to save. There is not one of us that He has not given His angels charge concerning. We may be insignificant and contemptible in our own eyes and in the eyes of others, but the truth remains that we are the children of God and that He has actually given His angels--invisible beings of power and might--charge concerning us, and they watch over us and have us in their keeping. . . .Those who otherwise might be thought to be contemptible and unworthy of notice, Jesus says, be careful about offending them, for "their angels do always behold the face of my Father." (Matthew 18:10.) We are in their charge. They watch over us, and are, to a certain extent, doubtless, responsible for the watchcare that they exercise over us, just as we are responsible for any duty that is assigned us."(1890, Contributor 11:476-77)

The full text of this is found here. Search for "watchcare."

I love how it says they watch over us and are responsible for their watchcare over us, just as we are responsible for the duties assigned to us here.

My experience and observation has been that angels are a lot like us. Because, like us, they are as-yet unperfected.

What are some implications of this?

- I think of angels kind of like home or visiting teachers. Sometimes you get great ones. Sometimes you don't. But they're all still children of God who have been assigned to a task, whether they complete it or not. Here and there, the children of God fulfill their responsibilities to varying degrees. I always like to pray that my angels love me and like to watch out for me and that they are given extra insight for me. I ask to process their emotions sometimes. We work together.

- Think of the emotions you incur fulfilling your responsibilities here. Consider the possibility that you had responsibilities before that you fulfilled with different degrees of accomplishment. Is it possible you are still carrying shame or grief over perceptions of a pre-birth assignment you felt you did not sufficiently fulfill? Is it possible you are still carrying the weight of situations you experienced in those capacities?

These are obviously things you can pray about for yourself.

I have a testimony of angels. We interact with them every day. And perhaps we have acted as angels ourselves, before our mortal births. I invite you to pray about this.

The power of breath: I killed 5 flies yesterday.

I killed five flies yesterday with the power of my breath! But not how you think.

Our new house--I don't know what it is, but whenever my kids leave the back door open, flies come in. Yesterday I had six flies in the house. It was an irritation to be sure. I was not having any success with killing them.

But then I had an idea of how to harness my yogic power of breath to kill the flies--and I'll get to that in a minute. First, I need to back up.

A few days ago, my computer was having some struggles. Really, it was the internet. One page just wouldn't load. It was taking forever. At first I got frustrated, but then I thought: I'll use this time to practice my yogic breathing.

So I took the deepest breath I could breathe, so deep that my lungs were fully, entirely full, and--wouldn't you know it, the page loaded right as I reached the pinnacle of my breath.

A few minutes later, another page had trouble loading, and so I decided to continue my deep breathing exercise. I inhaled, inhaled, inhaled, and--just as I reached the pinnacle of my breath, the page loaded.

This actually happened two more times and then I noticed the pattern.

It was evening time and my little baby was having trouble settling down. He has a difficult time transitioning and transferring in his sleep. I went upstairs right after this and got him back into a restful state--but usually after I comfort him, if I leave, he just starts fussing again. So this time I tried my yogic breathing and breathed as deeply as I could--

And can you believe it? He made one fussy sound and was out. That was it.

This has been replicable. I have been experimenting with it for several days now.

Now as my children have their big emotions, I envision myself breathing them all in, and then processing those emotions for them on the exhale. But as I inhale very, very completely, it feels as if things are actually changing.

Seriously, try this with your computer when your internet is slow, try it with your fussy baby and whiny children. I have been very surprised.

But back to the flies--

Yesterday, I reached my limit. I pulled out the flyswatter. I thought: tonight is the night. You suckers are going down.

I tried a few times to swat one, and failed. And then I remembered the power of breath with getting my kid to stay asleep and getting the internet to load. So I inhaled, inhaled, inhaled, until my lungs were bursting--and then BAM! Swatted the fly.

Totally got him.

Then, totally got four more of them. Only one of them took multiple tries. It was because that one was on the ceiling and I was at a bad angle and also am short.

But seriously: I went from killing no flies and having it be seriously hard, to killing several of them in the course of a few minutes. At one point I had ten minutes to go before an appointment, but I just thought: I'll see how many I can kill in ten minutes. Totally got three of them. WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE at one point. It blew my mind. I was stunned and overjoyed. Ah.

Experiment with the power of your breath today!! Inhale as deeply as possible in the moments where you need an extra something. Extra agility to kill an overabundance of houseflies, extra patience when your internet is taking forever to load, extra whatever to deal with the fussy kids. Then report back here in the comments because I am so interested to hear anyone else's stories about this technique. Love!!

the spiritual integumentary system

This morning in a session, an issue came up with the "spiritual integumentary system." I had never heard of even a non-spiritual integumentary system before, so I got Googling. This is the Wikipedia page on your integumentary system.

Basically, the integumentary system is made up of things like your skin and hair, the physical boundary between the outside world and the inside world of your body. On a spiritual level, it's the boundary between the outside and the inside of you.

If you're feeling like your interactions with the outside world are tearing you up--maybe they are, and maybe it's time to look at your own spiritual integumentary system. This may be a good system to check on if you are dealing with skin problems as well, or hair problems.

In this particular case, I felt to look into a lack of spiritual nutrients and found that there was a lack of patience with affliction that was helping cause the problem. Applying the energy of patience and teaching the tissues how to have the patience to endure seemed to help.

Conclusion

Spend some time praying about your spiritual integumentary system and if there are any Christlike attributes you can develop that will strengthen that boundary for you.

spiritual nutrition and disease

In a session recently I saw the client covered in boils, spiritually. Very painful boils. It looked like a disease, one that I had never seen before.

It kind of reminded me of measles, though. The rash and everything. And I knew that measles can only afflict you if you are deficient in Vitamins A and C. If you have enough of those vitamins in your body, you will fight off measles without getting sick. If you are deficient, you will get sick. If you are sick and then hyperdose with A and C, you can recover in mere hours. Megadosing Vitamin A results in drastic decreases in serious complications of measles.

So I thought: is there a spiritual vitamin, if you will, that this person is deficient in? One that would have prevented whatever this disease is?

And I got an answer: yes. And that particular spiritual nutrient that was missing was compassion. So we applied some compassion until the boils healed.

But it has just got me thinking of spiritual nutrients. And how with regular nutrients, you know, you can be doing just fine with all your nutrients except one, and end up with problems just from missing out on one. That's why it's not enough to only develop a few Christlike attributes--or even all the Christlike attributes except for the one that would make you give up your "pet sin," whatever that is.

Some Spiritual Nutrients
- compassion
- love
- charity
- forgiveness
- acceptance
- kindness
- mercy

Exercise

Go ahead and take some time to pray about what spiritual nutrients you are missing. Take notes. Ask what you can do to "supplement" and build up your spiritual stores so you can avoid spiritual disease.

healing the immune system

I have been sick for probably a majority of my life.

Coughs, colds, sniffles, flus, all of it. In my teen years I read some research indicating that people with stressful childhoods end up with shorter telomeres which can lead to impaired immune function. When I read it, I thought--that's me! And I just resigned myself to having the sniffles and a cough for the rest of my life.

In my work I work a lot with nervous systems. I'm always trying to get people's nervous systems functioning at 100%. But finally a few weeks ago I realized--why don't I do the same with my immune system?

So I checked out my immune system and realized it was "turned off." You can muscle test on if your immune system is turned on or off. Once I realized it was off, I turned it back on and retested: it was on but only functioning at 2-3% of total capacity.

SO then I did a bunch of work like I do with nervous systems, clearing out the gunk that had clogged up my immune function. My goal was to bring up my immune system function to over 65% of capacity, which is where my husband's is at and he's only been sick once during our marriage and it was minor. After clearing a bunch of stuff, my immune system function muscle tests at 85%.

Miraculously, I have felt that "oh no I'm going to be sick" tickle at the back of my throat probably three or four times since then, but have not gotten sick. This is the actual first time I can ever remember that happening--my body actually beating the bad guys before I'm using up five Kleenex boxes in a week. Hooray!!

Next up on my to-do list is to increase the capacity of my immune system, if possible. Or at least investigate that possibility. What I find is that people's capacity per system (immune system, nervous system, lymphatic system, digestive system, elimination system, etc) varies based on a lot of factors. Some people have huge nervous system capacity, some people have very little. I wonder if there are simple ways to increase capacity. Obviously kundalini meditation and yoga is a great way to increase nervous system and lymphatic system capacity, and probably the others too, but I wonder if there are other ways as well.

Conclusion

Sick all winter? Go ahead and start looking into the state of your immune system. Maybe there is something to be done about it!

self-healing exercise

This is a good self-healing exercise. It's a toughie but very worth it.

This is the exercise to do if you feel caught in a hopeless situation. The important thing to know is that all hopeless situations are consequences of previous unhealed experiences. When those experiences are healed, the situations change.

This is an exercise that will combat despair, depression, frustration, anger, upset, confusion, and more. Possibly even physical pain, although I haven't personally had to use it for that. But I hope you set aside an hour to give this exercise a chance.

It's very simple.

Here is what you need:

- pen
- paper
- open heart
- about an hour alone in an emotionally safe place

STEP 1

Get yourself ready to commune with the Lord. That might mean meditating first or doing some good scripture study. We're going to seriously pray so prepare for that.

STEP 2

Get out your pen and paper. Start writing: "Dear Lord," at the top, and then write what you want help with. This is what you want help with: you want help remembering the situation that is causing the problem you're really concerned about. For example: if you're dealing with a health problem, you'd ask: "Please help me remember the situation that led to the development of this health problem. I'm willing to feel the emotions now and let them go. Help me to let them go."

STEP 3

Wait. Feel. Write down anything that comes to mind.

The first thing to know is that this often dredges up pre-birth stuff. The second thing to know is that memories of pre-birth stuff are not the same as memories post-birth. They're less pictures and more ideas. You won't remember an exact conversation, perhaps, but instead, you'll experience a sense of knowingness that a conversation happened, and that such and so ideas were conveyed. Or you won't even get to know what types of ideas were conveyed, but you will just get a sensation of the emotions that the event caused. Write it all down.

STEP 4

FEEL. You will be astonished as various, powerful emotions step up. Prepare for heartache, anger, devastation, fury, despair, grieving. All of the above and more. Or just one of those things. It will depend on your situation.

I have been very surprised as I've done this exercise at the power of what comes forward to be felt. I view it as my job to feel it and get it out of my system.

STEP 5

EMOTE. That means: cry. Do it. Ugly cry. Scream. Pound your fists around and get MAD. Get SAD. Get UPSET. Really just feel the emotions and actually let them be felt. Let them out, all the way out.

STEP 6

Eventually you will sense that the work is done. You might hear a voice tell you, "good work" or "you're done for the day." It will have a sense of completion on the one hand, and that tells you that you can put your journal away and wash your face and get back to your day. On the other hand, it will feel very incomplete as your body continues processing the stuff you dredged up for the next few hours.

~~~
This exercise is very powerful. You can clear powerful things this way. I invite all of you to try this out and email me about how it goes.
What is energy work? An LDS perspective.
There is a lot of confusion about energy work out there. What is it, and especially if it fits with the Restored Gospel. This is just a little piece of my perspective on it.
What is energy work?
"Energy work" or "energy healing" is the term people use to refer to a specific type of alternative medicine--non-allopathic or non-Western medicine. Acupuncture and acupressure are probably the most widely known and accepted forms of energy work. Those qualify as energy work because they use points on the body that correspond to both physical and energetic "meridians" that clear up gunk, I guess you could say.
Other modalities classified as "energy work" would include things like Reiki, Quantum Touch, theta healing, Emotion Code, Body Code, jin shin jyutsu, Rapid Eye Technique, and so on.
Here is what those things have in common:
- They recognize the interconnectedness of the body, mind and spirit: that most every physical ailment has at least a partial emotional or spiritual component
- They recognize that the body is the reservoir of emotional trauma--literally. Our brain structures, memories, and chemicals that make us feel the way we feel are located in our bodies. So sometimes you can clear emotional trauma via the body, instead of having to relive it
- They recognize that due to the interconnected nature of mind-body-spirit, sometimes physical ailments are primarily emotional or spiritual in nature.
I would argue that any type of work that recognizes those ideas about the human body-mind-spirit would classify as energy work.
Some of the modalities listed above work on primarily the body, the mind, or the emotions, but all of them can drastically affect the workings of all three parts of a person.
Body affecting emotions
For example, when I was first beginning this work, I practiced Quantum Touch and jin shin jyutsu. Both of those modalities focus on the physical body. You essentially insert your own electrical field into the client's electrical field and allow any energetic blockages in the body to unblock. You do this most basically by touching or hovering your hands over the afflicted area and breathing deeply. Eventually the client will begin feeling things shift around.
I've written before about some miracles I have witnessed via healing touch. Broken ribs healed in days instead of weeks. A 2nd degree burn developed at 8 am that was completely healed by 5 pm. I've seen bones literally jump out and adjust themselves under a person's skin. Instead of kissing my kids' injuries when they get a little scrape or something, I immediately insert my energy field into theirs and begin the healing process. They usually are fine in minutes.
BUT I have found that this modality doesn't just heal physical ailments. It additionally can clear emotional baggage.
Before I stumbled upon the modality I use now, when clients came to me in person I would scan their bodies by hovering my hands over their bodies by about 6 inches. If you do this on yourself, breathing deeply and paying attention to the sensations in your hands, you may realize that you can sense changes in your own body's energy field. Even just hovering your hands above the body, you will sense changes. I do teach classes on this and they are fun. Anyone can do this. But anyway. If someone came to me with depression, I would ask the body: where is this depression located? And I would scan them with my hands and find the place that felt turbulent under my hands. The actual air feels different, very literally and again I hope you try this sometime and email me with questions. The best way to verify that this is true is to try it yourself!
Anyway, I would just insert my field into that spot and begin allowing the dam of energy to flow, and sure enough, when the work is done, they feel better.
Emotions affecting body
I have also seen many physical miracles with releasing emotions. One of my favorite examples was with a client who had a headache. At this point I was no longer using my hands very much. I looked at her energy field with my mind and saw that she had a misalignment in her occiput, the bone at the base of the skull. I found that she had some emotions going on that were physically altering the space.
We know that emotions are chemical in nature because that's how anti-depressants work. You take pills that block the processing of the chemical emotion that you don't want to feel. Those molecules of emotion are obviously things and they do take up space, as all matter does. If the physical location of those emotions is lodged in or around the occiput, for example, your bones will be misaligned and it will cause things like headaches. Or if those chemicals are lodged in, say, a gland in your brain, it will affect hormone production. Etc.
And so I released the emotions involved with the occiput misalignment in that client, and she literally felt the bones shift and then voila, headache gone.
I literally experience this every day. I cannot even begin to enumerate how many different versions of this story I have seen. Someone comes in with a physical problem, we address the underlying emotional component, and the physical ailment goes away.
Another favorite story of this involved a woman with extreme arthritis, knuckles the size of walnuts. The underlying issue turned out to be an unwillingness to forgive someone who had wronged her. We did some forgiveness work and voila, by the end of the week, her hands were normal looking hands, after 35 years of arthritis. She still tests on blood tests as having arthritis, but there are no symptoms.
Wha--???
Everyone has an energy field and we can all sense everyone else's fields. You can know this for your own self by observing your own life. When someone is angry, they don't have to say anything: you will sense it. Even if you don't know them. Pay attention to the "vibes" you get from people at the grocery store, the mall, church, anywhere. You will see how much your body reacts to the "vibrations" other people are giving off, even if you aren't interacting with them directly.
Earlier I mentioned that I no longer use my hands to scan people's energy fields most of the time. That is because of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and the concept of what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance." Essentially, all energy work is based on principles of quantum physics. Because electrons exist at multiple places at the same time, you can access another person's electrons anywhere, from anywhere. When I scan people's energy fields now, I can do it at home with my mind by pulling up their unique electronic signature. I know that sounds crazy. But that's just how it goes and again: literally anyone can do this. Classes are available and not just through me. There are many, many people who have mastered this.
It is actually highly scientific, again, based on and utilizing principles of quantum physics. A great discussion of this by a quantum physics professor is located in the book Matrix Energetics.
But this is the same principle we use when we experience religious experiences: feeling like God is there with us, even though we objectively know His body is not literally there with us. God can, like us, have His electrical field present in any number of places at the same time. Quantum physics.
It's the same principle we use when we unexpectedly and unexplainedly "know" something about someone that we shouldn't know. Information is energy and has electrons of its own and those electrons can lodge in our energetic field.
We know scientifically that all matter takes up space, and therefore has atoms and therefore has electrons, and this does include even ideas, in my experience. But not just in my experience.
The scriptures explain in D&C 131:7-8:
7 There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes;
8 We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter.
Is love real? Yes. Does it have mass? Well, you might say no, but is it a spiritual thing? Yes? Is all spirit matter? Apparently yes. If your spiritual sight is undeveloped you will not see it. But as you develop, the scriptures state that you will be able to literally see the literal matter of spiritual things. Matter being: it has mass and takes up space.
This year we had a great, great lesson in Relief Society from the Howard W. Hunter manual. Here's Chapter 5: Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration. Go read it. Great lesson. But here is an excerpt straight from the prophet Howard W. Hunter (emphasis mine):
A seer is one who sees. This does not mean that he sees through his natural eyes but rather through spiritual eyes. The seeric gift is a supernatural endowment. Joseph was like unto Moses, the ancient seer, and Moses saw God face to face, but he explains how he saw him in these words:
But now mine own eyes have beheld God; but not my natural, but my spiritual eyes, for my natural eyes could not have beheld; for I should have withered and died in his presence; but his glory was upon me; and I beheld his face, for I was transfigured before him” (Moses 1:11).
We should not suppose that to see spiritually is not to see literally. Such vision is not fancy or imagination. The object is actually beheld but not with the natural eyes. Each of us has spiritual eyes which are the counterpart of our natural eyes. We were first created spiritually and then our bodies were created as the covering of our spirit. We are told that in our first estate we walked by sight. This was through the vision of our spiritual eyes because we had not yet been given bodies with natural eyes. All men have spiritual sight but are not always privileged to use such sight unless quickened by the Spirit of the Lord. …
By the power of the Holy Ghost, certain persons, sent to the earth for that purpose, are able to see and behold the things which pertain to God. A seer is one who sees and knows of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed (see Mosiah 8:15–17). In short, he is one who sees, who walks in the light of the Lord with spiritual eyes open and quickened by the power of the Holy Ghost. Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and many others were seers, because they were privileged to have a nearer view of the divine glory and power than other mortals have.
The ability to see spiritually is something all humans are gifted with. Most don't use it. They trick themselves into believing it is "fancy or imagination," as the prophet put it. Or they're scared of it. Or they don't trust it. I find many people are deeply afraid of using their spiritual eyes to discern. See my post on the gift of discerning of spirits. The gift of discernment, is, in my opinion informed by the scriptures, deeply misunderstood and underutilized.
I do strongly believe that since everyone has spiritual eyes, as Howard W. Hunter explained, anyone can see energy fields as I do. But most people have fears and other emotional blocks that prevent this capacity from being used.
Please note that the use of spiritual sight is a constant in the scriptures. Go reread 1 Nephi 1:7-8, and also the rest of 1 Nephi. How Nephi and Lehi experience their visions is very important:
7 And it came to pass that he returned to his own house at Jerusalem; and he cast himself upon his bed, being overcome with the Spirit and the things which he had seen.
8 And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a vision, even that he saw the heavens open, and he thought he  saw God sitting upon his throne, surrounded with numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising their God.
But notice from the text... that Lehi is still in his bed. See also 1 Nephi 8:2:
2 And it came to pass that while my father tarried in the wilderness he spake unto us, saying: Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision.
The most wonderful thing about 1 Nephi, to me, or well one of many wonderful things, I guess, is the message that literally anyone can experience Lehi's dream if they want to. If they have the faith and are willing to use their spiritual sight and know how. Part of this is dispelling with the idea that to experience Lehi's vision or dream, you have to actually be taken away physically by the Spirit to physically witness these things. No. That is not how it works. Visions and experiences that the prophets describe are witnessed within the mind. Using principles of quantum physics.
And just as the idea of "love" is real and has matter, so is Lehi's dream. Note in the scriptures how once Nephi attunes to the energy field of this vision, he not only witnesses what his father saw but also much more. His father didn't notice certain things that Nephi did. That is because the vision is an actual item that takes up actual space and has its own unique energy field or electronic signature. If you log into it, you will find that it is a real thing. Like Nephi, we can all experience Lehi's dream for ourselves. But we have to get rid of these ideas that to do that requires things that scare us away from exercising our faith. We use our spiritual sight through faith and the Holy Ghost. We don't have to prep ourselves to be literally kidnapped by the Spirit and transported to another location in order to experience these things.
Just as Moses did not see God with his physical eyes but his spiritual ones. It is all about learning to use our spiritual eyes.
How do spiritual eyes come into play with energy work, again?
I brought it up because there is lots of evidence in the scriptures for the idea of spiritual sight, which confirms the idea of remote healing (also practiced in the scriptures, by multiple people but most famously the Lord Jesus Christ Himself) and basically the concept of energy work in general: that energy fields are real, can be accessed by normal people, and really are nothing to be afraid of, but are to be understood by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Examples of energy work in the scriptures?
A great example of energy work in the scriptures is in our very own Book of Mormon. Check out Alma 15. Read the whole thing but verse 3 is what really stands out to me:
3 And also Zeezrom lay sick at Sidom, with a burning fever, which was caused by the great tribulations of his mind on account of his wickedness, for he supposed that Alma and Amulek were no more; and he supposed that they had been slain because of his iniquity. And this great sin, and his many other sins, did harrow up his mind until it did become exceedingly sore, having no deliverance; therefore he began to be scorched with a burning heat.
The scriptures validate the idea that emotions can and do cause physical symptoms.
Later Alma and Amulek heal Zeezrom through the power of faith in Jesus Christ. Not all energy workers are "Christ-centered," and their work still works because it is science-based, just as not all doctors are Christ-centered but a medication they prescribe or a surgery they perform may still help, because it is science-based. All healing is through Jesus Christ, whether or not people acknowledge Him and the role the Atonement plays, and this is true for both allopathic and holistic medicine. But here we see how releasing Zeezrom from his emotional woes breaks the fever and heals him.
How all this has strengthened my testimony of the Restored Gospel
To me, I love how this perspective on the world deepens my understanding of the Restored Gospel. I am cerebral by nature and the quantum physics aspect of things just delights me. I love knowing that miracles are possible due to actual science.
But that is just the tip of the iceberg.
What some would call "my gifts" opened up only after a "dark night of the soul" where I was told by the Lord in prayer and at the temple to make some serious changes in my life. I was already a good person, obviously temple worthy and all that, but as we learn in the temple, there are higher laws. We know by the fact that the Millennium is a thing that it will take some people up to a thousand years to prepare to be who we will be at final judgement. What we learn at church is barely a scratch on the surface of what we need to learn and do and be to obtain the kingdom of God.
I deeply resented the things God told me to do: basically be way more humble! But in very specific ways I really didn't like. But I did it. The day I promised the Lord that I would live that way 100% from then on, six hours later I was awoken in the night by my first vision of someone else's energy field that was broken, and the Spirit explained to me how to fix it.
I find that as I pursue my relationship with the Lord, humbly change my own heart according to His dictates, the more I am able to spiritually perceive and affect. My testimony has grown so much because of this. As a Christ-centered energy worker, all my work is done with acknowledgement and gratitude to Jesus Christ. This has strengthened my testimony of prayer so, so much. And the power of the scriptures and all those "seminary answers" we say at church. And my testimony of free agency. All my energy work is principled on the concept of free agency: nothing goes through without express and direct permission and a desire for it to work.
Because of my work, I know so completely that free agency is one of the most, if not THE most sacred things in the universe.
Why don't we hear about this at church, then?
Well, actually we do--like in the Howard W. Hunter lesson!--or lessons on 1 Nephi or Alma 15. But most people have no idea what they're actually learning about. This is good and important. Church is for the ultimate basics. And the ultimate basic is: Jesus. Not energy work.
Some people are really freaked out by the "unseen" world. They might be okay with the idea of Jesus casting out devils, or Ezekiel or Daniel seeing chakras, or Nephi or Lehi having visions with spiritual sight, and so forth, but the idea of an ongoing restoration of these things is deeply disconcerting to them. The idea of them being able to do those things is deeply disconcerting to them, even though that exact promise is made in both ancient and modern scripture (see D&C 84:65-68, or Mormon 9:24, or Mark 16:17, etc).
And that's okay. Again: Church is for the basics. If you want more you will certainly find more. You have to work for it and that's the way God works. No one gets salvation, or spiritual knowledge, for free. You pray and study and work and set aside the time, have faith that you're not seeing "fancy or imagination," learn and trust and that's how it goes. I mentioned above that I teach classes. I feel that sometimes some students get this idea that I was just born super gifted or something. Yeah right. I have spent literal hours every day since my gifts "woke up" developing them. I practice for hours every day. I spend hours with the Lord in prayer and study and meditation. That is how you get spiritual knowledge. Like David O. McKay said, also from a Relief Society lesson you may have attended at church:
We pay too little attention to the value of meditation, a principle of devotion. In our worship there are two elements: One is spiritual communion arising from our own meditation; the other, instruction from others, particularly from those who have authority to guide and instruct us. Of the two, the more profitable introspectively is the meditation.
And you will find that church is 100% energy stuff if you look for it. No need to bring it up in class. But class is just an addendum to personal spiritual research and growth. I'll be blogging about Helaman 5 later, but just remember (emphasis mine):
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
13 And it came to pass that these were the words which Helaman taught to his sons; yea, he did teach them many things which are not written, and also many things which are written.
The New Testament is filled with examples of Paul explaining that he is not teaching everything there is to know about the Gospel. If you think you're going to get everything you need to know from "what is written," just know that the prophets have never restricted their teaching to the scriptures. If we are close to the Lord, He will enlighten our minds with even things that "are not written." And you will find that they all fit beautifully in with what is written.
Because all truth is circumscribed into one, it all one great eternal round, and it all really does fit together and make sense.
Conclusion
There are tons of scriptures, prophetic quotes, and everything else that explain and support the ideas behind "energy work," even though they don't use the same phraseology. But this is just an intro. Suffice it to say: "energy work" is scientific, it is real, it corresponds beautifully in my experience with the Gospel, and because it can clear up underlying emotional problems instantly, it can cause really miraculous results in not a lot of time, depending on the situation.
But most importantly, "energy" stuff is not something you need to take someone's word on. You can absolutely experience it for yourself. And you can always study and pray and take it to the Lord. Just like everything else.
So don't take my word for it. Do some work yourself and see what you see.
releasing relentless dogoodery, and so forth
I just read a beautiful message on Facebook--you can maybe see it here. Basically, in the story, a woman goes up to the writer and asks: what do you say when someone is having a hard time and you think you can help?
From the post, formatting mine for easier reading, and emphasis mine:
She said, "What would you say to someone who is in a hospital bed having a dark night of the soul and isn't open to hearing about mind-body interventions?"
I said, "That is not the time to barge in and say to someone 'Your illness has a gift in it. Are you ready to unpack why your illness might be here and what it might be saying to you? Are you willing to look at how your life might be out of alignment with your truth and how that might be exacerbating your symptoms?' Such an intervention would be cruel and inappropriate. That would not be healing. When you're in acute crisis, you need comfort. You need someone to hold space for your pain and your fear. Unless someone is ready and reaching out, someone's darkest night is not the time for some New Age intervention. If you're feeling like you need to wake them up and help them see the gift in their illness, you're better off looking into yourself to examine why you can't be comfortable letting them have their experience and just showing up with empathy and holding space for their suffering."
It bears repeating: if you are feeling like you need to wake others up and help them see the gifts in their trials, you're better off looking within to see why you are not comfortable with them having their experience.
I say this as someone totally guilty of this. Having lots of tools for clearing things physical, emotional, what have you, it can be really difficult to see people--loved ones, friends, even people I have no idea who they are--going through a hard time. I find myself at times practically tripping over myself to offer up a solution. But that attitude, well-intentioned though it may be, is perhaps more indicative of personal failure rather than altruism. Why can't I be comfortable letting people experience their own experiences?
In recent months I've become way more okay with it. My scripture study has reminded me that Jesus waited to be asked for help. He held space for suffering. He wept when it was time to weep. He didn't jump in with solutions right away.
That's just not how God works. He lets us suffer even though it must tear Him apart to do so. He waits for us to exhaust our solutions and finally remember to ask for him. And through it all, He is right there with us.
We don't need to engage in relentless dogoodery, which is how I would characterize my life for a large chunk of my life. Service is good and we should serve others. But sometimes serving others is just being there for them, without judgment, without solutions they aren't interested in. Sometimes service is just being willing to be there in love.
We don't need to worry about others waking up. As I write this, I reflect: but what about sharing the Gospel? Isn't it practically our JOB to wake people up? Help them care about the Gospel? What about missionary work? What?
And immediately, the answer: this is how to do missionary work. Leave the missionary work on the side. If we develop in ourselves our relationship with God and learn how to accept others where they are at, hold space for them in empathy, reach out to them and connect with them and love them through their own suffering, without questions and without judgement, they will naturally want to know more.
The original Facebook post I found addresses this as well, in its way--while holding space, she recommends mentioning to the sufferer, "I have a thought about something that might help. But I don't want to mention it unless you want to hear about it." The answer or potential for an answer is out there, but it's not shoved in anyone's face. The approach has a deep respect for the choices of others. It is agency-driven instead of guilt-driven or pride-driven. It is not about you and what makes you comfortable. It is about the other.
In the end, this is about changing ourselves. What does it take for each of us to become a person who is comfortable allowing others to experience their experiences? What does it take for each of us to become a person who naturally reaches out to others to be a "safe space" for them--without judgment, without ulterior motives of getting them to change? For every person, it will require overcoming different things.
It is safe to allow others to have their own experiences. It is safe to allow others to have the experiences they are ready for.
Our job is not to fix. It is not to pop up in unwelcome ways with solutions people were not asking for. Our job is to follow the Spirit, reach out to others with love, and inform gently.
coping with stress
Stress is no good. We all know that. No one loves feeling stressed.
Some of us don't know how to live without stress--but we don't love stress.
There are tons of studies out there on how damaging stress is to the body and the mind. It can be just so destructive. Necessary, but destructive.
Part of the problem is that these days, we subject ourselves to much more stress than people used to.
I once asked my grandmother what life was like in the 1950's. I wanted the day to day, ins and outs type of information. She said that her family would fill up on two baked potatoes for dinner--she, her parents, and her sister would each take just one half of a potato for dinner and feel full! And they would all go to bed by 8 pm because it's not like there was anything worth staying up for. They would all sleep from 8 to 6.
Crazy, right?
I was thinking about it, and I realized that past generations, pre-TV generations, probably all got way more sleep than we do, just because it would have been a pain to stay up in the dark. And their lifestyles were so much more active. They could physically work out their emotions during the physical labors of the day, then sleep through the night. These days I feel it is so hard to get enough sleep. We aren't active enough to make our bodies truly tired come bedtime, there's entertainment at the touch of a button, and lighting at night is so cheap, why not stay up? But we pay the price in stress and fatigue.
I think about my nana's single half of a baked potato for dinner all the time. For lunch she would have two slices of pre-GMO Wonderbread, with one slice of dried beef in between. Can you imagine! No wonder they were so skinny.
For a time last summer or the summer before, I switched over to only grass fed beef, and I was astounded at how much less I had to eat to feel full. I was truly shocked. I do suppose that our modern day "food" is not as filling or nutritious as it used to be.
Our bodies are stressed from lack of sleep, they're stressed from lack of nutrients. That's just the basic stress of living in the modern world. Then you add in the stress from money, from relationships, from children and parenting, from employment or unemployment... that's a lot of stress.
The role of nutrition in stress management cannot be understated. Eat better! You know what to do!
And emotional healing is also a must. Take time for self care, breathe through your emotions, and start letting things go so you can experience stillness where there is turbulence. It is possible.
Start today. Sat nam!
the bright side of "dark" archetypes
Had an interesting experience this morning. I was told to witness the complete alteration of someone's archetypal wheel, with basically no warning. I did it. Some of it I specifically didn't want to witness.
For example: I was told to watch the Court Jester become the Trickster. I thought: how does having the Trickster make someone a better person? Archetype redesign is supposed to be about spiritual growth, not--whatever!
I prayed about it and muscle tested and was led to Genesis 42: the chapter where Joseph of Egypt tricks his brothers by pretending not to understand their language, planting false evidence against them, etc. Joseph of Egypt was an incredible man and very wise--and definitely a Trickster! But not in a bad way. In a way God was totally able to use for His purposes.
This same individual needed the Seducer in the House of Home and Family. I thought: seriously? What, you graduate your archetypes and get things all set up for an affair or something? I prayed about it again and was reminded of Alma, teaching that the word of the Lord is more powerful than the sword, and Ammon, using his service to help King Lamoni believe. I realized: the Seducer in the House of Home and Family could be really wonderful, actually, if it were used to "seduce" crazy little kids into being good through things like Ammon-type service and Alma-type preaching rather than attempts at force!
Another interesting archetype that came up was the Destroyer. The scriptural equivalent was Ether/Moroni, watching their civilizations self-destruct. Playing a warning role in that destruction.
Archetypes might have ugly names sometimes, but they don't have to conform with your ideas of what they are. There are good Tricksters, there are good Destroyers, there are good Seducers, and it's just a matter of having your archetypes operate in their light aspects instead of their shadow aspects.
energetic elimination pathways
Lately I've been doing a lot of vaccine-related work. I don't think I've posted about them here yet, but I will. The short version is: they're bad news.
A little relevant background reading on epigenetics and gene expression.
What I'm finding is that most people have very blocked elimination pathways. This is one of very many reasons why vaccination can cause so many problems. The elimination pathways refer to how the body eliminates waste, and unusable or toxic material. Physically, there are four elimination pathways: the two bathroom functions, exhalation, and sweating or otherwise excreting waste through the skin (which is what's happening when you're suffering from eczema and other skin problems like that--the body is excreting waste through the skin and it causes irritation).
When the physical elimination pathways are blocked, it leads to both physical and emotional problems. The clearer your elimination pathways are, the more easily physical toxins like traces of plastic or metal from your food can clear, and the more easily emotional trauma can pass through you and on out.
So anyway, lately I've been doing a lot of unblocking clogged elimination pathways.
Just now I was commanding for a client's organs to download an understanding of HOW to eliminate toxins safely, and when I was witnessing the downloading, I saw a fifth elimination pathway appear: the aura. There was an understanding that her aura was also an elimination pathway, allowing more external energetic things like broadcast signals, memory fields, and so on to pass through her space and on out. If the aura is clogged, you may have trouble detoxing from the things you pass through--walking near people having a troubled conversation, overhearing a fight, etc.
Looking at myself, I'm finding a solid dozen energetic elimination pathways. I'm not sure what they all are yet, but will keep investigating. All of mine look happy and healthy, so that's good. Will find out more as I troubleshoot them for others!
Conclusion
Clearing blocks from the elimination pathway will help things move on out. It's not just physical elimination organs and pathways that need to be open; energetic pathways also need to be clear to process energetic toxins.
Full Moon tonight
Image here.
We are currently in the throes of a full moon and an eclipse. Obligatory link to the Gospel and Reading the Stars.
This moon, the so-called Sturgeon Moon, is supposed to be a moon of chaos. You may have already been feeling the upheaval.
Just two days ago I was having some emotional upheaval, and as I asked God why, the nearly-full moon came into my sight. Last night, two of my children were up nearly all night with screaming nightmares. (My favorite: "SHE WON'T STOP EATING  MY FOOD!" #worstnightmareever #siblingrivalry)
Everything is energy and big planetary energies affect us and we affect them. In my opinion, we and the stars reflect each other--it's not about telling the future, it's about finding our mirror in the moment.
Make time for self care today and tonight. When you experience emotional upheaval, breathe on through it. The earth is upgrading and rising in vibration. Read about the gospel and the vibrational shift here.
Another article on our current shift quotes astrologer Sarah Varcas:
It may be a rude awakening, especially if the stark lunar light reveals it is we who have painted ourselves into a corner, not external circumstances conspiring against us,” explained astrologist Sarah Varcas. “Whilst such insights are a bitter pill to swallow, this is just the first stage: a nudge from the universe to embrace our past selves, not chastise them.
Embrace yourself and remember to do some kundalini yoga for the full moon. Here is information about kundalini meditation basics. You can do it!
on effective prayer
This was my final lesson to the Relief Society as a member of the presidency before I moved to Utah. Enjoy.
The yogis teach that God gave us a head to give it to Him; He gave us a heart to pray.
Prayer is one of my absolute favorite things. It may actually be my favorite thing. Communing with the Lord is something I have loved to do since I was a child and I love to do it now, and every day that passes I love it a little more. I pray all day long. I love it.
I want to just share some of my thoughts on prayer for a few minutes, and then in a little while we will do a few exercises on prayer. You're going to love them. But this is my last week teaching you and I thought--what are the things I want to share with the Relief Society about prayer? Here are four of my thoughts about prayer.
Thought 1: We don't need to know how.
God told the Brother of Jared to come to him with a plan for how to light his ships--but at the same time, He led Nephi forth with Nephi "not knowing beforehand" what was going to happen or what he was going to do. I feel that so many times we have our fancy plans of how things should work in our lives, and we take our plans to the Lord and beg for Him to put our plans into action, as if we are the experts on our lives.
We not. We are not the experts on our lives. We barely understand anything that happens in our lives. We make up narratives, stories, to explain our lives to ourselves, but that's what they are: narratives. I look at my children and realize every day that I don't know what they're thinking. Half the time I don't even know what I'm thinking! And yet I want God to enact my plans for me? I'm an idiot! I'm clueless! God is the one that knows everything, not me.
We don't need to know how. God wants us to make plans and He invites us every day to co-create our lives with Him. He wants us to ask him for what we want. And so we should. But humility is also so important. We don't need to know "how." It is safe to release the white-knuckled grip on "how" and tell the Lord: "I don't need to know how. Please, just fix this. Just fix me. I can leave the how up to You."
So thought 1 is: We can leave the "how" to the Lord. Matthew 7:8-11:
 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that  seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Thought 2: Doing all things in the name of Jesus Christ
D&C 46:31 says, " And again, I say unto you, all things must be done in the name of Christ, whatsoever you do in the Spirit." How do we do "all things" in the name of Christ?
I teach Kundalini yoga and meditation, which is a Christ-centered yoga and a mantra meditation. The main mantra that you will hear over and over if you ever take up kundalini is "sat nam." It is how the yogis say hello and goodbye, like "aloha" for Hawaiians. In yoga, and in your life, it is recommended by the yogis that on every inhale, you think the word "sat" and on every exhale you think the word "nam." So every breath, and remember that every breath is sacred, every breath incorporates the Sat Nam into the physical body.
 Sat Nam means, "the true name." Whose name is the true name?
We know that the true name is the name of Jesus Christ. The yogis believe in Jesus Christ and devote their yoga to the creation of what they call a "Christ consciousness," becoming one with Christ. I love that with every breath they are breathing His name in. What a way to "take His name upon us."
You don't have to take up kundalini yoga to learn from this concept. Do you remember Jesus Christ with every breath? When I breathe the Sat Nam I do. And I love it.
Thought 3: The importance of a daily spiritual practice
What does it mean to have a daily spiritual practice?
The prophets have called upon us to have one, and they have stated that it should include a serious ongoing study of the Book of Mormon and studies of the Holy Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and teachings of the living prophets.
Ezra Taft Benson said,"I would humbly urge all … to keep in close touch with our Father in heaven through prayer.” He said, “If we would advance in holiness—increase in favor with God—nothing can take the place of prayer.”
We are also supposed to meditate. David O. McKay said,
"We pay too little attention to the value of meditation, a principle of devotion. In our worship there are two elements: One is spiritual communion arising from our own meditation; the other, instruction from others, particularly from those who have authority to guide and instruct us. Of the two, the more profitable introspectively is the meditation.Meditation is the language of the soul. It is defined as “a form of private devotion, or spiritual exercise, consisting in deep, continued reflection on some religious theme.” Meditation is a form of prayer. …Meditation is one of the most secret, most sacred doors through which we pass into the presence of the Lord."
That is in Chapter 4 of David O. McKay's Teachings of the Presidents of the Church.
So we are supposed to have a daily practice that includes meaningful prayer, serious scripture study, and meditation? How do we do that?
One secret is to schedule it. Another secret is to schedule it before the sun rises. Exactly one year ago, the Ensign published an article called "Filled with Life and Energy," in which they quoted Harold B. Lee as saying,
“If you are to be successful as a General Authority, you will need to be inspired. You will need to receive revelation. I will give you one piece of advice: Go to bed early and get up early. If you do, your body and mind will become rested and then in the quiet of those early morning hours, you will receive more flashes of inspiration and insight than at any other time of the day.”
The article states,
Additional blessings are pledged to those who follow the Lord’s counsel on sleep. Consider these incredible promises: “Cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated” (D&C 88:124; emphasis added). Invigorate means “to fill with life and energy.”
The yogis call the daily spiritual practice of prayer, scripture study, and meditation "sadhana." The Mahan Tantric of Kundalini Yoga has said, "Sadhana is a willful effort to prove you are not lazy about your own Infinity. When the sun rises early in the day, even idiots rise. But blessed are those who rise before the sun and prove that they are the children of the Almighty." The yogis say, only when you are in love with God, then can you perform sadhana, the daily spiritual practice.
Our daily scripture study and prayer and meditation is our way of showing God we are in love with Him! It is our way of showing we are not lazy about our own eternities.
For the yogis, including myself when I can, daily sadhana begins at 4 am and can take hours. Those hours are beautiful. But the Lord blesses us for every little effort we make to keep His counsels on sleep and on daily spiritual practice. I know that as you even just set your alarm back five minutes earlier to make time in the morning for the Lord for just those five minutes, you will see incredible blessings.
Thought 4: Becoming a living prayer
 The yogis teach that to be a yogi is to be healer, and to be a healer is to be "a living prayer." That is the thing that has been on my mind to teach and discuss today. How do we become living prayers?
While breathing a prayer about this, I was on Facebook and up came a meme from a fellow yogini, a meme of Mother Teresa. The quote is:
“I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now I pray that he will guide me to do whatever I'm supposed to do, what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I'm praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us and we change things.” - Mother Teresa
Prayer changes US and we change things.
In Alma 34, we are counseled to pray over everything:
20 Cry unto him when ye are in your fields, yea, over all your flocks
21 aCry unto him in your houses, yea, over all your household, both morning, mid-day, and evening.
22 Yea, cry unto him against the power of your enemies.
>
>  23 Yea, cry unto him against the devil, who is an enemy to all righteousness.
>  24 Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them.
>  25 Cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.
>  26 But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closets, and your secret places, and in your wilderness.
>  27 Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you.
Sidenote: we are encouraged to pray over all sorts of things. The Power of a Praying series by Stormi Omartian is really fantastic when it comes to this. I got her book The Power of a Praying Wife and it just has huge lists of things to pray for on behalf of your husband. Pray for your husband's reputation. For his finances. For his physical health. For his friendships. Etc. It is a great book just because of how many ideas it has on what to pray for! But to continue:
But then the next verse, Alma 34:28, states,
And now behold, my beloved brethren, I say unto you, do not suppose that this is all; for after ye have done all these things, if ye turn away the needy, and the naked, and visit not the sick and afflicted, and impart of your substance, if ye have, to those who stand in need—I say unto you, if ye do not any of these things, behold, your prayer is vain, and availeth you nothing, and ye are as hypocrites who do deny the faith.
Part of becoming a living prayer is service. Becoming a living prayer means letting prayer change us--and the change it wreaks in us is a change of service, a change that leaves us desiring to reach out our hands to the needy, to seek out those who need our love.
In our ward, we have the Relief Society Presidency and a compassionate service committee, but truly, we are all on the compassionate service committee, or we should be. When prayer has wrought its change in our hearts, we don't need a calling to reach out to serve those around us. If we want our prayers answered, we need to be going out of our way to answer others' prayers, and to be the answer to others' prayers.
Okay. Now I have an activity for us.
Prayer Writing Activity
In September of 2015, Elder Henry B. Eyring wrote:
Before you begin your prayer, take a few moments to think about what you want to say. Consider questions you might have or things that have been bothering you—you can even write them down so you don’t forget. Use this time too to clear your mind from the ruckus of the day so you can focus on the gentle impressions of the Holy Ghost. If your mind tends to wander while you pray, try to visualize Heavenly Father listening. Speak in specifics. Also, leave a few minutes at the end of the prayer to listen to the promptings of the Spirit. You might write down your impressions in your journal.
 Take out your pen and paper. Right now we are going to write a letter to God.
It starts: Dear Father, comma. And now you write. Write your thoughts, your concerns. Or just say hi. Writing out prayers is an ancient prophetic tradition that continues today. Consider the Doctrine and Covenants. These are prayers that Joseph Smith wrote out. Some sections have his letter to God written out--consider D&C 121. Some just have the answers he got.
Now we will write the answers we get. Start with Dear Your Name, comma, and start writing what comes into your mind. Write down what you "hear" whether or not it makes sense. It may not "feel" like "hearing," exactly, and that's right. It's like mental hearing, with your spiritual ears instead of your physical ears. Write down what comes to you and you will find that if you don't want to write something that comes, you will be unable to write something else until you do.
This is what I call your letter from God. When it's done, you look at it and ask yourself: is this something God would write to me? And of course, pray for a second witness from the Holy Ghost. But praying this way has been recommended by the prophets, who counsel us as in the Eyring quote to write down our thoughts and questions, and then write down our impressions too.
Once I was praying about a very specific dilemma a friend was dealing with. I wrote out my prayer: Dear Father, what should I know for my friend? The Lord gave me two paragraphs. They didn't seem to match up or make sense. One was about her life, and one was about a kind of obscure aspect of my life!
A few hours later that friend called about her dilemma. She said, "I just don't know what to think about X." I was stunned. I said, "I prayed about that this morning and this is what I got." I read her the first paragraph, the one that seemed to apply.
She said, "But what about how my problem impacts this obscure part of your life, Allie?"
Once again, I was stunned. The answer to her question was in that second, non sequitur paragraph. The Lord knows everything and He's often willing to share if we ask.
 I know that Jesus is real, He is alive, He is here, He loves us, He loves YOU, and as we get to know Him better through meaningful prayer, we will grow in favor with the Lord.
I love you guys.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
on kundalini
"Kundalini" is the Indian name for the energy that lies coiled at the base of the spine. For most people, it lies dormant their whole lives, at or around or below the root chakra. The fact that most people's kundalini is stalled there is evident in how most people spend their lives fixated on issues of the root chakra: food, sex, money.
Under the right conditions, the kundalini sparks. Every bit of spiritual anatomy needs to be in place--you need your chakras and your sushmana-ida-pingala, which I call the caduceus. Under trauma, those bits of anatomy can flee. So if they have fled they need to be called back.
For the kundalini to spark, there's a lot of different things that can do it. It's a physical and spiritual process. So doing physical yoga, sitting in a certain position long enough while working at the computer, that can spark it. It's also spiritual, so particular spiritual experiences can spark it. If you come into contact with someone whose kundalini has fully risen, it can spark it. My kundalini is fully risen and I have prayed for the gift of sparking the kundalini of those who come within 6 feet of my person. So if you come hang out with me and conditions are right, your kundalini will spark! ;)
Kundalini energy then can stall, though, from blocks in either the physical spine or in the sushmana, what you might call the energetic spine. Usually these are self-imposed blocks of things that need healing.
As they heal, the kundalini moves up the spine. It has completed its rising when it goes up through the back of the head, over the top of the head, ending around the forehead/eyes/sixth chakra area.
Being both physical and spiritual, it's normal to experience a spiritual awakening, a bigger drive to go to the temple, read scriptures, listen to the prophets. At the same time, during the actual rise, you can experience the "kundalini flu" as your body adjusts to the much, much higher vibrational level. Dizziness, buzzing in the limbs and extremities, general fatigue and weird body feels. That's normal. Your nervous system is expanding in power and awareness.
As the kundalini rises, archetypes are able to switch out. They cannot switch out without a corresponding kundalini rise. If any of you are familiar with archetypes. So basically it ends up being a whole personality shift.
When people's kundalini has risen, you can tell. It will feel like a spiritual sense of knowingness that their spinal column is a lot "brighter" than other people's. If you imagine their energy, it will show up in your imagination almost as if it is on fire.
You can begin the kundalini awakening process via kundalini meditation.
emotions as viruses
Hello all! We moved to Utah. So if you're in Utah and want to chill, reach out and let's play.
Here is a thought I just had.
I've been research Epstein Barr lately. Not very thoroughly yet; just started my research. My aunt is also an energy worker and said that virtually everyone who sees her for chronic illness actually has this disease.
More on that later, but I thought of how I witness emotions. The emotions themselves are made of small particles that are lodged in various places in the body.
I wondered: what if these tiny emotion molecules are akin to viruses? Smaller than cells, sometimes attacking cells, digging deep into organs and causing emotional infections--perhaps emotional infections that appear viral....
Just chronicling the idea here for future pondering.
mischief managed... or is it?
I've been studying Proverbs lately and one this morning really stood out. Proverbs 11:27:
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
Immediately something was brought to my mind.
I had some amazing friends. Seriously, incredible people. But their lives were so, so hard! Unemployment. Strained family relationships. Eventually, strained friend relationships and loss of friends and housing.
These people were really into practical jokes--mischief, you might say. And honestly? Their stories of their jokes were hilarious. Hilaaaarious. So funny. I would laugh until I cried hearing their stories.
However, real people were at the other end of their punchlines. And those real people had their feelings hurt.
There are over 300 scripture references for curses.  That is because, obviously, according to the scriptures, curses are real. They are very real. We incur them through our wickedness.
On an energetic level, curses are like targeted negative energy. If you hate someone enough, you might accidentally send them a curse. If you actually literally say to or about someone, "d--n you," you are literally cursing them. This can manifest in things like unemployment. Strained relationships. Loss of physical objects and money or housing or whatever. Difficulty with children. Health problems.
Basically, this morning I just had a really clear wakeup call: practical jokes might be funny, but the people hurt by them can retaliate in very real ways that cause just as lasting damage as the humiliation from the jokes.
How to handle it
About a year ago, a guy on a forum I belong to was complaining about his life situation--it looked a lot like the one above. Loss of job, tons of bills, strained family relationships, health problems. On a prompting, I messaged him directly and suggested that he pray about if he could possibly have a curse on his house (house meaning, his life/body/possessions, not literal structure--although that is possible too!). I suggested that he pray for its removal. And yes, I know how crazy of an email that probably was! But he emailed me back a few weeks later that he had prayed about it, and had prayed for God to remove the curse, and almost instantly his situation changed. Money started flowing in, companies sent apologies for bills sent in error, etc. This stuff is very real.
Everyone is at risk for carrying with them curses, or targeted negative energy, from their own actions or even actions carried out by others in a family line. So it's a good practice to regularly pray for the removal of these curses by the Lord. And it's doubly good if you've in the past been a person who tormented other people--even in the name of practical jokes.
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
delay in sessions
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update--
I had pneumonia for 3 weeks and at the same time, the owners of my house decided to sell it. So I have been frantically cleaning and packing while sick and now while almost better, and I am still not done. Every day I think: this is it! Last day!! And then... it is not.
SO hopefully today is the last day, but let's be real! It probably isn't!!
So, apologies to everyone who I've had to reschedule over and over again. Very soon we will be all moved out and things will settle down. Thanks for your patience!
five planet retrograde
Hello! First order of business, a link to my article on The Gospel and Reading the Stars. The prophets counsel us not to WORSHIP the stars, but the scriptures make it very clear that the stars are ordained to act as signs for us, and that the Lord teaches His prophets (such as Moses and Abraham) to read them. Regarding the stars and taking them seriously is not a sin; worshipping them and using them inappropriately is.
Today we enter a five-planet retrograde for the first time in about a decade. Nothing to worry about, but to be aware of. Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Mercury, and Mars all now look as though they are moving backwards through the night sky (they are not. It just looks that way).
Saturn deals with "karma," basically retribution for our deeds. I view Saturn as a big mirror, reflecting back at us who we are in our hearts. If you've got some spiritual work to do, Saturn's influence will certainly bring it to your attention--whether you want it to or not! This is especially true for those who are 29 or 58, or in the years surrounding those ages. Saturn completes its cycle every 29.5 years and its oft-dreaded Saturn Return can be tough to weather. I mention it because I may or may not have a very close person to me (or two of them! Or three!) going through a Saturn Return right at the same time as this retrograde! Tough times! It's okay, guys, you can get through it! Saturn will turn direct on August 13.
Jupiter deals with expansion and growth. In retrograde, it means that external things can seem to start contracting instead of expanding. As one article puts it, it's like the crutches get taken out from under you. But it does force you to find your own strength, and grow that way instead. Jupiter is here until May 9.
Mars is all about anger and passionate emotions--you may experience some abnormally strong emotions during this time. Kundalini meditation and deep breathing throughout the day will help. Mars will be here until June 29. One article states that some people are more prone to illness during Mars retrograde--as if our bodies are trying to help us slow down through this time if we won't slow ourselves down on our own (I suspect that is what is happening with me).
Pluto deals with love and relationships, power, and desire. In retrograde we are inspired to turn inward to face the darkness in our own hearts related to these things. Things may turn up that inspire deep questions and serious introspection. Pluto will be here until September 26--so we have a few months to really turn inward and examine these things.
Mercury is infamous for its retrogrades causing miscommunication issues right and left--both in terms of people misunderstanding each other, and in terms of malfunctions with electrical communication devices. It will turn direct on May 22. Only a few more weeks to go!
I know that for me, ever since about two weeks ago, my life has been in total upheaval. As soon as I saw that we were entering into this period of retrogrades, I thought: Aha! Everything in my life makes sense.
Hang in there, guys! Live with integrity, read your scriptures! We will get through it!
aura shift and illness energy
This past Saturday, my aura shifted. Changed colors and energies. I felt it and it seems permanent. Shortly thereafter I got some kind of sniffles-type illness that I'm still processing. Part of it is my own energy shift that my body is trying to catch up to.
Every time you have an illness, your body is using that illness to clean out all the cells that are not functioning properly. In that way, illness actually is designed to serve us: when we are taking care of our bodies, illness helps us by providing the catalyst for clearing our body of cells that are not functioning at the level we need them to. When those cells clear, it makes room for new ones that will be more functional.
This is why good nutrition is so important in illness. You have got to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to create strong cells in the place of the weak cells that were destroyed and now exit the body through coughs or the sniffles or diarrhea or rashes or however they come out.
If you don't give your body the nutrition it needs to strengthen existing cells and create new, highly fortified cells, you will just get sicker and sicker.
Conclusion
Sick? Eat some high nutrition food. Organic grass-fed beef liver, liposomal vitamin C, coconut oil. Take your vitamins but eat your vitamins too (leafy greens! Fruits and vegetables!).
physical cleanses to clear spiritual toxins: liver cleanse
On December 31, as I was praying about what kundalini kriya to do every day this year, I got the answer of Let the Liver Live.
I started doing it every day, not knowing why. I was raised LDS, and the most liver-damaging thing I've ever done was take lots of cough medicine after suffering a likely vaccine failure against whooping cough. But even so. I did it.
About a month ago, or maybe 6 weeks, every Sunday as I would pray about my upcoming week, I would hear that prompting: do a liver cleanse. Do a liver cleanse. Do a liver cleanse.
The liver. From webmd.
I thought: people who do liver cleanses are weird! I'm not weird like THOSE people! ;)  --(says the weirdest person around)
Finally I gave in and did it.
On Sunday, I started a vegan diet.
On Friday at 2 pm, I stopped eating and drinking.
At 6, 8, and 10 pm that night I drank 1 tablespoon of Epsom salts dissolved into 4 oz water (and yes it was beyond nasty, thanks for asking).
At 9:45 pm, right before my 10 pm Epsom salt drink, I prepared 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice and 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, and mixed them together.
Immediately after drinking the 10 pm salts, I drank the lemon/oil mixture and immediately went to bed (your body has to be flat after this for like 8 hours).
At 6 am I got up and drank the last dose of Epsom salt drink. Ate an apple at 10:30 am and light meals the rest of the day and the cleanse was over.
Now, usually when I work on people, I am not allowed to take on their stuff to help them process. But a few days after this cleanse, I was suddenly not just allowed but invited to help people process their emotions. And what used to take me a week to process, can now take mere minutes.
It's a way to make emotional and spiritual healing even faster.
It turns out that when emotions are metabolized, it's the liver that takes on much of that metabolic work. Clearing junk from the liver makes room for more emotions to be metabolized faster.
NOTE: you DO need to do a colon cleanse before the liver cleanse, and I did do this part too. Just forgot to mention it. The colon needs to be clear first so that everything dislodged from the liver can clear as quickly and easily as possible to avoid reabsorption.
Conclusion
Want to speed up the healing process for yourself? Consider a liver cleanse!
pulling out the roots
I haven't blogged about castaways before, and I don't plan to any time soon--if you want to know more about them than you already know, reach out. Basically, being a castaway involves some very real premortal trauma that often leads to depression, anxiety, insecurity, strained family relationships, trust issues, and general mental health problems.
I do a lot of work for castaways. In the past, I've loved it because healing castaway experiences can really get to the root of people's issues. Which is still kind of true. But I recently discovered another part of the puzzle.
While working on someone one day, I was given a flash of insight:
Of course the castaways choose their fate. Of course they know what they are getting into. It's all part of informed consent. We all knew what we were getting into (whether or not we truly understood what that would mean for us emotionally).
It's not enough to heal a person from being cast away: underneath that, is the reason they chose to be a castaway in the first place.
The answer, I am discovering, is that typically castaways feel a deep need to be punished, to somehow atone for a mistake they made previously. So far, what I have found is that mostly this need and desire to be punished comes from pre-War in Heaven stuff: people feeling responsible for their best friends choosing the enemy's side.
So many people feel so guilty about not having done more to save their friends and convince them to stick with Jesus, they volunteer for painful experiences over and over again.
It's good to heal from being cast off, but I feel like I can almost guarantee that if being cast off is an issue, there's an even deeper issue underlying that that needs to be healed. If you heal the one without the underlying other, you will still see patterns of self-abuse, self-flagellation, self-sabotage in the form of either consciously or subconsciously seeking out punishment.
Conclusion
In your healing work, remember to go to the true root of the issue. Most mortal issues have premortal roots. Most premortal roots have other, further back premortal roots.
Solve the issue. Get to the root.
